Start with one small, doable thing. For most people, that’s the
Understand module:
learning how to notice “Oh, I’m in fight/flight/freeze/fawn” before trying to fix your whole life.
From there, you can move into Regulate, Patterns, and Integrate on the main Mynd path,
at your own pace.
Quick legend: what these states are trying to do for you
FIGHT
Protects you by pushing back — arguing, defending, taking control when something feels threatening.
FLIGHT
Protects you by moving faster — planning, fixing, staying busy so you don’t have to feel stuck.
FREEZE
Protects you by numbing — going blank, shutting down, or saying “I don’t know” when it feels like too much.
FAWN
Protects you by pleasing — smoothing things over, caretaking, and over-explaining to keep connection.
None of these mean you’re “broken.” They’re old survival codes your system learned to keep you here.
